Our kindergarten program follows the Toolkit Curriculum, which is designed to provide a foundation for young learners. The curriculum focuses on building foundational skills in literacy, cognitive, physical and social-emotional learning. Through play-based activities and hands-on learning experiences, students develop a love of learning and a sense of curiosity about the world around them.
At Tonkla School, we believe in nurturing every child’s knowledge, skills, and attitude to help them grow and succeed in life. We recognize that education is not just about preparing students for university, but also about equipping them with the necessary skills and attitudes to thrive in society.
We believe that education should go beyond academics and focus on holistic development. This means developing skills such as critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and creativity, as well as fostering positive attitudes such as empathy, respect, responsibility, and resilience.
At our school, we are committed to providing our students with the tools they need to succeed, both in their academic and personal lives. We believe that with the right knowledge, skills, and attitudes, our students can make a positive impact on society and achieve their full potential.

Kindergarten
Overview
Early childhood education and care is founded on the belief that childhood is a valuable stage in life, and it is so much more than preparation for primary school. Rather, it is an opportunity to focus on and support the holistic development of a child. This means meeting the child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs, which collectively form the foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing. Therefore, the early socialization of a child has a direct impact on the person they will become. By investing in young children, we effectively maximize their future wellbeing and their potential as citizens in society.
In response to this idea, our main goal is to create a positive and safe environment for children’s growth, development and learning. Through playful activities in different learning environments and with the support of their teachers, children build their knowledge and skills across all learning areas. They get to interact with others and strengthen their social skills, and they learn how to embrace and appreciate equality as well as their own individuality.
Toolkit Curriculum
In order to educate, every aspect of early childhood development and learning should be acknowledged and valued in order to maximize a child’s potential, which is why it is important to take a holistic approach to early education and enrich all aspects of a child’s learning and development. Toolkit Curriculum provides us with an educational framework that helps us achieve our goals in nurturing students holistically.
Toolkit Curriculum approach
Play is a learning tool for children. It is central to a child’s learning and development, and it is their way of practicing all other areas of development, including socio-emotional, language, physical and cognitive skills.
Student life
We believe that children’s learning is not limited to specific activities or the classroom setting. Every situation and moment is a chance to learn something new. At Tonkla’s international program we encourage group activities so children can learn together, learn through interactions, and learn through different environments. Here’s how our student’s daily life looks like.
